As of August 30, 2007, it has gotten a whole lot easier to fly in and out of Essex Skypark. We are now outside of the DC ADIZ. Be careful though because the ADIZ, the Baltimore Class B airspace, the Martin Class D airspace, and restricted area R-4001B are all nearby (but not hard to avoid). As of August 30, it is possible to take-off and land at W48 without first getting a squawk from ATC.
 
Until further notice runway 16 will have a displaced threshold of 185 feet due the height of the trees to the right.
